Vancouver-Clark
Disc Golf
Preserving the history of local disc golf and rebuilding a volunteer path to help care for Clark County’s courses and work alongside parks departments.
A community project that is rebuilding, not a current nonprofit. Here’s what that means.
Why this exists
A record worth keeping, and a question worth asking
Vancouver-Clark Disc Golf was an early local club. It dissolved years ago, and a lot of what it did (the people, the work parties, the conversations with the parks department) is at risk of being forgotten. This site starts by writing that history down before it disappears.
It also asks a practical question: would a renewed, volunteer-run organization be useful again today? Not as a takeover of the old club’s name, but as a respectful continuation: somewhere parks staff, course regulars, and new players can find each other.
What we’re working on
Early, concrete, and honest about the unknowns
-
Recovering the history
Reconstructing the timeline of local disc golf, from the early preview days through Leverich and beyond.
-
Listing the courses
Pulling together a verified list of Clark County courses and their current condition, with help from people who play them.
-
Reconnecting people
Finding former members and current players who want to help with course work parties and stewardship.
-
Exploring what’s next
Reaching out, in time, to parks departments and existing groups to see whether a renewed organization makes sense.
